AMD’s “biggest” gaming CPU currently only knows one direction in terms of price and has dropped by 30 euros compared to the beginning of the month.

Having long since fallen below its RRP, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D is becoming increasingly affordable. The 16-core Zen 5 gaming CPU has once again shaved 30 euros off its price since PCGH’s last price survey, moving toward the 700-euro mark.

Ryzen 9 9950X3D in decline

Currently, CPU buyers can get the Ryzen 9 9950X3D for around 719 euros from various retailers, including Caseking, Computer Universeor GalaxusThis means that the powerful gaming CPU, which also excels in applications, is now €50 below its RRP. In fact, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D leads PCGH’s CPU performance index in terms of overall performance.

The major drawback, however, in times of high electricity prices, is the lack of efficiency, which makes other X3D CPUs easily outperform the 16-core processor. Take the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, for example, which is currently the recommended CPU if you’re only interested in gaming performance and want to own an efficient processor. The eight-core processor is also available for a good €488.available and is currently the most popular CPU among customers.

However, anyone who urgently needs the 16 cores combined with additional 3D V-Cache has reason to be hopeful. Since mid-May, the price of the Ryzen 9 9950X3D has only gone one way and has dropped by €80. If the trend continues at this rate, €650, or even less, is not an unrealistic sum in the future.
